Where to Enjoy a Full Bar with Friends

The holiday season is a great time of year to gather and bond with friends and loved ones. And oftentimes, these memories are made with a drink in hand. Tybee is home to several bars and eateries that serve up classic and creative cocktails, so you don’t have to go too far to find a good drink. Benny’s Tybee Tavern 

Benny’s Tybee Tavern is a beloved local bar that boasts the “coldest beer in America.” Whether or not that’s true is up for debate, but one thing’s for sure: you’ll love the lively atmosphere at Benny’s. They’ve got pool tables, karaoke and live music. And the friendly bartenders are happy to make your drink of choice from the full bar. Head to Benny’s soon to enjoy a good drink with good company.  

Bernie’s Oyster House 

As the name suggests, Bernie’s Oyster House is known primarily for their oysters. However, they also have a full bar, and they are known to offer fun drink specials throughout the year. Bernie’s is pet-friendly so you can bring your precious pooch as you enjoy delicious drinks and along with fresh seafood.  

The Crab Shack 

Lauded for its scenic locale, The Crab Shack is another great island eatery that serves up some stiff drinks. Order one of their excellent margaritas from their full-service bar and check out the wildlife in Gator Lagoon. The Crab Shack is the place “where the elite eat in their bare feet,” so you can expect to encounter some colorful characters while there.  

The Deck Beach Bar & Kitchen 

Drawing inspiration from coastal cuisines of Australia, Mexico and Hawaii, The Deck is a vibrant bar and restaurant with inventive menu items to please every palate. Fannie’s on the Beach 

Fannie’s on the Beach is a fan favorite with its tropical island vibe and fresh sea fares. They have a full bar and are known for their fantastic frozen drinks like their Back River Quiver, Lynchburg Lemonade and Little Tybee Tease. Fannie’s also boasts a satiating signature margarita, affectionately known as Big Rita. They also serve up a fully-loaded Bloody Mary, which comes with a bacon cheeseburger slider. Doesn’t get much better than that.  

Stingray’s Seafood 

For a relaxed atmosphere, head to Stingray’s Seafood. They offer a sizeable drink menu featuring domestic and imported beers, wines, frozen drinks, mules and more. Their signature cocktails include unique creations like the Beccalicious, which combines raspberry vodka with sprite and lemon, and the Bloody Cure, a Stingray’s specialty with a seasoned rim. Stingray’s has a drink option to accommodate every taste, so no matter what you’re in the mood for, they’ll definitely deliver.  

Chamacos Tacos & Surf 

Chamacos is a Mexican-style restaurant serving up tasty street tacos in a cool, colorful environment. They have a tequila bar offering several cocktails featuring the agave-distilled spirit. If tequila is your drink of choice, Chamacos has a variety of drinks that you’ll enjoy, like Matt’s Mash-Up, which is a margarita and a paloma put together with an extra shot of tequila and topo chico. A place for oysters, dogs and fancy cocktails, Seawolf Tybee doesn’t disappoint when it comes to drinks. They offer an excellent selection of house cocktails along with classics like the Painkiller and the Queen’s Park Swizzle. For a refreshing tiki drink, try the Recombobulator, or for a fun spin on two classics, order the Tom Arnold, which is part Tom Collins and part Arnold Palmer, as you might infer.
