Tybee Island boast several fun filled summer camps for kids.  Whether you’re a Savannah or Tybee local or visiting for the week these camps are the perfect mix of fun and education, satisfying every fascination from dolphin watching to the arts.  So instead of sitting around this summer let the kids get out and explore this beautiful world around them!

1.Watermans Camp – North Island Surf & Kayak

Parents should be at ease when their children are out in the water.  North Island Surf & Kayak Tybee summer camps will instill and refine the skills that will ensure your children’s personal safety. All of the instructors are highly qualified watermen with years of lifesaving and instructional experience!

North Island Surf & Kayaks goal is to teach children these activities and, challenge them mentally and physically, instill confidence to overcome their fears, and teach them leadership skills to be successful and find their personal best.

Campers will enjoy days out on the open water learning how to surf, paddleboard, kayak, and refine their swimming skills!

2017 Tybee Summer Camps

June 12-16 9am-12pm
kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding, reading a tide chart, throwing a casting net, and all things ocean related!
$200/week or $50/day drop in – AGES 5-up

FAMILY CAMP
July 5-7 from 6pm-8pm
kayaking, surfing, SUPing, and family!
$150/day or $350 for all three.

2.Tybee Summer Theater Camp For Kids 2017 – Tybee Art Association

Kids from 6-16 are invited to join Directors Renee’ DeRossett and Kim Trammell for a two-week Acting Camp this summer from June 13th – June 23rd. Theater Camp will be held daily from 9am -3pm, Monday – Friday at the Tybee Arts Center 7 Cedarwood Avenue. There will be a final camp production on the last day of Camp Friday June 23rd in the Tybee Arts Center on the Jim Ingham Black Box Theater stage.

Campers will spend two weeks, learning and exploring the art of theater!   They will study the craft of acting by learning and exploring the basic principles and techniques of theater with theater games and exercises as well as lessons in acting, improvisational theater and more!

Theater Camp on Tybee also means going outside everyday to enjoy the creative inspiration on our Tybee beaches and Parks.

It doesn’t matter whether your child has acting experience, or if they’ve never been on a stage before. Kids of all ages will come away from this camp with the tools and knowledge they will find helpful in whatever path they take in life.

3. Burton 4-H Summer Camp  – Cloverleaf Camp and Junior Camp

 Burton 4-H Center plays host to one of the many UGA Extension 4-H Summer Camps.  4-H Camp on Tybee Island is a week-long experience that includes visits to the beach and many other fun and exciting activities. 4-H Camp is a fun and rewarding experience. Cooperation and character building, along with just having a great time, are all part of the camping adventure.

2017 Summer Camps at Burton

4.  2017 SeaCamp: Coastal Kids’ Adventure – Tybee Marine Science Center

The Tybee Marine Science Center offers  9 weeks of camps for Summer fun at the beach. These camps are open to kids from ages 6 to 11 years old. Registration for the 2017 Season opens on April 1st. Campers play games, conduct experiments, collect animals for a good look under the creature cam, make junk jellies, dig up a mock sea turtle nest, beachcomb, feed the resident animals, and learn how to help a dolphin in distress.

5. East Coast Paddleboarding Summer Camp

East Coast Paddleboarding summer camps introduce kids to the hottest new water sport in the world! This newly reborn ancient Hawaiian sport is fun and easy to learn. Whether paddling on flat water or surfing waves, this sport gets kids stoked!

East Coast Paddle Boarding summer camps for 2017 are offered the weeks of:

  • May 22-26
  • May 30-June 2
  • June 12-16
  • July 3-7
  • July 24-28
  • July 31-August 4

• Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 11:30am; Memorial Day holiday week is Tuesday – Friday, 8:30am – 11:30am
• Cost is $220/regular week, $175/holiday week, or $50/day
• Discounts available for multiple family members
• Ages 7 – 16, campers must be able to swim
• Camps are held at the Back River and Tybee Beach
