St. Patrick’s Day Parades

The Tybee Island Irish Heritage Celebration Parade is the first parade of the green season locally. Taking place on Saturday, March 11 from 3 to 5 p.m., the parade is now in its 20th year. Don your brightest green garb and relish two fun hours filled with music, marchers and more. The parade will start at Tybee City Hall, ending at Tybrisa Street.

Don’t let the fun stop there. Keep the party going all the way through to the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which is happening on Friday, March 17 at 10:15 a.m. The Savannah parade is one of the biggest in the nation, and it definitely lives up to the hype.

Tybee Island Farmers’ Market

The Tybee Island Farmers’ Market makes its glorious return on Monday, March 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. Shop for unique artisanal goods in addition to your favorite fresh food items like honey, pecans, veggies and more. There will be live music and free parking, so bring your whole family and your precious pup too!  The Tybee Farmers’ Market takes place every Monday from March 13th through October from 4 to 7pm on the Tybee Lighthouse Grounds.

Tybee Tour de Art

Sponsored by the Tybee Arts Association, the Tybee Tour de Art seasonal artist market has announced its spring dates. The next event is set for Saturday, March 18 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Tybee’s north end arts district. With more than 70 participating vendors, Tybee Tour de Art is a great opportunity to find local artworks and handcrafted gifts. Visit all 18 locations and check them off on your map for a chance to win a Tybee Tour de Art gift basket. Can’t make the March market? No worries. The event will also take place on April 15 and May 20.  More info at tybeetourdeart.com

Tybee Turtle Trot

The 16th Annual Tybee Turtle Trot is happening Saturday, April 29 at 8 a.m. The 5k beach run will benefit the Tybee Sea Turtle Project, which locates and protects sea turtle nests on the island. The run will be followed by sea turtle activities at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. To register for the run, click here.

Tybee Beach Bum Parade

The oldest, largest and most fun water fight in the South returns Friday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. This is none other than the Tybee Beach Bum Parade, of course. This Tybee tradition dates back to 1987, growing through the years as a major island-wide celebration. It’s parade floats versus parade goers, so grab your wettest water gun and prepare to have a blast!
