Destination Weddings are the perfect way to bring two families together. Not only do you get several days of Wedding bliss but your guests get a little vacation out of it too! The key is to plan bonding events for your wedding guests to meet. This is a very thoughtful idea and it can be easier than you may imagine!

But…First, you need to find the perfect location; which is (of course) Tybee Island! The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel has been the anchor of Destination Wedding Weekends for almost 7 years. We specialize in destination weddings and love to show our Chapel couples exactly what the meaning of “true Southern hospitality” is. We have had wedding groups from as far away as Japan, New Zealand, France, and Norway. Just to name a few! The venue has been named a Knot.com “Legacy Venue”. This is the only venue in the Savannah and Hilton Head area to have this honor.
So, now that you have your dream venue, the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel & Grand Ballroom! Let me tell you exactly how you to get this weekend planned!
1st Guest Arrival Day │Thursday
Plan a Welcome Cocktail Party on the Beach!
“Tybee Island allows you to set up a 10×10 tent without needing a permit! I recommend some cozy beach blankets, little beach welcome bags, weekend itinerary, a map, pralines and maybe a local brew! Oh, and we must not forget Sangria! Maybe even a make your own Sangria station!”
After the welcome party, a low-key Tybee bar crawl is a fun option! I recommend one of the karaoke bars!

2nd Ceremony Rehearsal Day & Rehearsal Dinner│Friday
Leave some free time in the day for your guests to tour Savannah or just relax on the beach for a few hours! One of my favorite ideas is to trade in a fancy rehearsal dinner and opt for a low country boil with a friendly game of kickball at a Tybee Park! #teambride #teamgroom
Don’t forget to get a good night’s rest! Tomorrow is the big day!!

3rd It is Wedding Day Ya’ll! │Saturday
In the morning, you might want to provide guests with activity options on the Island: beach yoga, kayaking, a dolphin tour, shopping or Tybee’s new Airboat Tours!

4th Farewell│Sunday
Plan a Farewell Beach Brunch! This is a perfect way to share stories and gather everyone in one spot before heading off on your honeymoon!
Do you see what I am saying? Tybee Island really is the ideal location for a wedding destination weekend and I guarantee your guests will say it was the best wedding they have ever been to!
Happy Planning!
