Tybee Island Equality Fest
hits the beach next weekend!
August 22-25, 2019
Tybee Island is known for its beautiful beaches, sand, sun and family fun. We are not going to let the summer end without one more beach bash with our family – Tybee Island Equality Fest! We provide a welcoming, safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. Our events include everything from family outings like yoga on the beach and kayaking to a little more on the party side – drag and burlesque shows. This year we have a few exciting new additions as we have added a music festival vibe, a Body Beautiful Fashion Show and Equality by the Sea Parade!

The long weekend kicks off Thursday with a Casual White Party at Fannie’s on the Beach Thursday. Friday will begin with Yoga on The beach and a fun-packed Rainbow beach day featuring drink specials at The Deck, followed by the Happiest of Hours cocktail hour at Coco’s, then we head to Bubba Gumbo’s and later conclude the evening with a Drag Show at Huc-A-Poos. Saturday will offer another morning of Yoga on the beach and/or Kayaking, brunch at BeachView B & B, our first annual Equality By The Sea parade from 1-3pm with Grand Marshall Candace Hardnett, a Music Festival Vibe featuring SONiA disappear fear, Christy Snow Band, Taylor Alxndr, Nickel Bag of Funk and a Body Beautiful Fashion Show with clothes designed by fashion designer Bertice Berry *The parade proceeds benefit the Savannah Gay and Lesbian Center and fashion show proceeds benefit Savannah Youth City. Ending the amazing day with a VIP Burlesque/Drag party at The Deck!

Sunday we will once again entertain the island with Drag You A** To Brunch Drag Show at Fannie’s on The Beach and a Luau at Salt Island, and a weekend closeout T-Dance at Fannie’s with Christy Alan, and DJ Amy Edwards.
