Labor Day weekend is almost here, and there’s no shortage of fun-filled festivities to be held on the island. Defined by barbecues and beach-bashes, Labor Day weekend is the final hurrah of the season right before those autumn winds start settling in. Celebrate this last stretch of summer by spending your Labor Day Weekend out on the island. Here’s a round-up of all the can’t-miss Labor Day events in the area.

Tybee Labor Day Events:

Billy Joel vs. Elton John: Face-to-Face Tribute

Rock n’ Rollers throughout the region should plan to be at the Tybee Post Theatre at 8 pm on September 2nd. Classic rock fans can look forward to a spectacular set paying homage to the joint efforts of two of the industry’s biggest names: Billy Joel and Elton John. The rock icons launched their historic Face to Face series back in 1994. This Labor Day weekend, you have the chance to see two of the world’s best tribute artists recreate the magic of that famous, 200-show tour. Celebrated cruise artist Bill Connors and Vegas strip performer Hugh Tyner will perform as Joel and John respectively. The Saturday night show will feature a live 6-piece band, who will join our headliners in presenting all of your favorite hits from the Face to Face tour. Tickets start at just $25, so be sure to get yours before they’re all sold out.

Labor Day Beach Bash

Send summer off with a splash at the annual Labor Day Beach Bash. On Sunday, September 3rd, the beach bash will kick off with live entertainment from the south beach Pier and Pavilion starting at 7 pm. And the tunes will fill the ocean air throughout the night, leading up to a stellar fireworks show around 9:15. Fun for the whole family, Tybee’s Labor Day Beach Bash is pretty much an island tradition. Don’t miss it!

Savannah Labor Day Events:

Savannah Bacon Fest

Bacon Buffs, your annual slice of heaven is well on its way. Now in its fourth year, the Savannah Bacon Fest will take place in the heart of Savannah’s historic River Street from September 1 – 4. After attracting huge crowds last year, the porcine party has doubled in size. Now lasting four fantastic days, Bacon Fest is bigger, bolder and better than ever. Enjoy succulent, savory bites from some of the best restaurants in the region, and look forward to live music and a special fireworks display over the Labor Day weekend.

Savannah Craft Brew Fest

After you’ve had your fill of crispy bacon creations, wash it all down with a full-bodied brew at the picturesque Savannah International Trade & Convention Center. The 2017 Savannah Craft Brew Fest will be held on Saturday, September 2nd from 2 to 6 pm. Sample a seemingly endless selection of craft beers from around the world amid opulent Savannah River vistas and charismatic company. Expect beer seminars, mixology and cider gardens and a cornhole tournament to rival all others. Get your tickets today!

The Drinking Class Bar Crawl

To keep the beer-theme going, follow up the brew fest with The Drinking Class Bar Crawl. On September 2nd from 4 to 11 pm, participants will visit 12 of Savannah’s best bars, enjoying satiating drink specials and getting their score cards stamped along the way. Then, after making every stop, turn in your completed score card and proceed to the after party at Savannah Smiles.  First 250 crawlers to turn in their card will receive a free event t-shirt.
