Sparks Fly During 4th of July: A local guide to Independence Day

Celebrating American independence, the Fourth of July is just around the corner, and Tybee will be teeming with festivities to engage locals and tourists alike in holiday fun. Independence Day on Tybee is truly a time to behold, as the island goes all out every year with a variety of exciting activities. If you’ve yet to solidify your Fourth of July plans, know that Tybee Island is the place to be. Slap on some shades and sunscreen and prepare to celebrate the Fourth Tybee-style on our beautiful barrier isle.

Celebration for our Nation!

Presented by veteran-owned and operated company, Zeros, the Celebration for our Nation is a three-day party at Tybee’s iconic Pier and Pavilion, complete with live music and tantalizing vodka cocktails. The festivities kick off on the holiday, Thursday, July 4, with a DJ dance party from 12–7 p.m. featuring all sorts of swag and samples, followed by the City of Tybee’s annual Fourth of July fireworks show — more on that in just a bit. Then on Friday, July 5, the DJ will spin records all day leading up to an energetic concert from Big Engine at 7 p.m. The party continues on Saturday, with live music courtesy of the DJ all day long until Landslide, your favorite Fleetwood Mac tribute band, takes over at 7:30 p.m. It’s the ultimate beach bash that you won’t want to miss this holiday weekend.

Tybee Island July 4th Bike Parade

If there’s anything to know about Tybee, it’s that we love a good parade, and the Fourth of July presents another engaging opportunity to take to the streets. The bike parade will take place on the holiday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Decorate your bike in a patriotic theme and don your most vibrant red, white and blue regalia and ride through Tybee with the local community. The parade will start and end at Memorial Park by the flags. It’s a fun, festive way to celebrate America while also getting in a good workout!
