Saturday Summer Fun: Where You Need to be this Weekend!

Summer is just around the corner, meaning fun festivals and exciting events are on the horizon. It’s a busy time of year for the island with something going on every weekend. This upcoming weekend is a prime example. There are several events happening that you won’t want to miss. If you’re wondering what to do this weekend, you’ve come to the right place. Here are four fun events happening this Saturday here on Tybee.

1. Irritable Pelican 2nd Anniversary Blast

Irritable Pelican Artisan Gallery is celebrating their second anniversary this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 802-D 1st Street. There will be a pop up art show featuring local and gallery artists. Guests can look forward to art demos, games, food, music and more. There will also be drawings for beautiful art pieces all day long. Parking is free for shoppers, so there’s no reason not to come out and support Irritable Pelican as they celebrate two years strong!

3. Old Fashioned Bazaar at Sea Wolf Tybee

This Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. at Sea Wolf Tybee, the Old Fashioned Bazaar will take place. Now in its fourth year, the Old Fashioned Bazaar is a curated vintage clothing experience, boasting more than 10 vintage vendors. There will be vegan food in addition to oysters and wagyu hot dogs, so there’s something for everyone. Fresh fruit drinks will be served and there will also be live music and a fun limbo competition. It’s sure to be a great time for everyone who loves vintage threads and summer fun.

4. Chairs for Charity

Taking place on Saturday, June 11 from 5 – 7 p.m. at The Guard House at 31 Van Horne Ave. is Chairs For Charity. It’s a special auction featuring local artists and artists from four Tybee galleries. Admission is free with a canned goods donation. Artists will paint chairs to benefit the Rising Tyde Food Pantry and the Tybee Marine Science Center’s Sidewalk to the Sea program. Auction items include gift certificates from local restaurants and gift baskets from local businesses. It’s going to be a fun event that allows guests to give back to the island community we all love and enjoy.

5. Dark Desert Highway at the Tybee Post Theater

Eagles Tribute Love classic Americana? You won’t want to miss The Eagles tribute happening this Saturday at the Tybee Post Theater from 8 to 10 p.m. Russ Lanier and the Dark Desert Highway Band will be performing many of The Eagles’ greatest hits, providing guests with a riveting journey through time filled with songs we all know and love. Dark Desert Highway always sells out at the Post, so be sure to get your tickets soon!
