Tybee Island Parking

Tybee Island Parking Information

Tybee Parking Information

Tybee is a “Pay to Park Community” in order to keep critical island services available for visitors and residents.

  • Since parking is so important to keeping the island in good condition for your next visit, there are no free, public parking spaces on Tybee.
  • Parking regulations are enforced 8AM – 8PM, 365 days a year. A few spots still have meters, though most parking places have been converted to Pay-&-Display parking.
  • The mission of Tybee Island’s Parking Service Division is to support and enhance the experience of visiting Tybee Island by providing safe, accessible on-street and surface-lot parking. Staff enforces City rules, policies, regulations, and ordinances as they pertain to parking issues.
  • When you park, be sure to pay the appropriate meter or locate the nearest Pay-&-Display Station to purchase time.
  • Pay & Display Stations dispense a receipt that should be displayed securely and prominently on the dash of your vehicle.
  • NEW: Pay for Parking with the new Parking App! http://parktyb.ppprk.com/

Tybee Parking Information – DECAL PARKING:

Annual decals are available at Tybee Island City Hall for $250 ($175 for those 62 or older) and $350 for transferable stickers and are valid for one year from month of purchase. Decals for residents expire with their tag. To qualify for a residential sticker, you must present a current, valid, state, vehicle registration indicating the code for tax purposes for the City of Tybee Island and showing that the ad valorem tax, if any, has been paid. In addition, documentation to establish proof of residency, such as a utility bill, voter registration, a local deed, or similar will be required along with the tag registration receipt.

A decal on your windshield entitles you to park in any legal space on the island without paying the parking fees, although time limits in some areas are still in effect, so you need to stay aware of the time if you are in a short term spot.

Decals are associated with a single vehicle, so to purchase, you must bring your paid tag registration, and the decals must be permanently affixed on the driver’s exterior windshield in order to be valid. Motorcycle stickers are also available for the same fee and must be placed on the front forks of the bike for visibility to a parking officer. If you trade out your vehicle during the year, be sure to scrape off the decal, hopefully in close to a single piece, and bring it in to trade for a new sticker.

Parking Services is now offering Transferable Yearly Decals at a cost of $350.00 each.  These decals can be used in multiple vehicles one at a time, displayed on the dashboard.   These may be purchased at City Hall with a valid driver’s license.  Once purchased they may be picked up the next business day.  Please call Parking Services at 912-472-5101 for more information.

Vehicles with decals may park at any legal parking space, including public parking lots, at no additional charge.

If you have any questions, or if you wish to contest a parking ticket, please feel free to contact the Tybee Island Parking Services Division at City Hall by calling 912-472-5101 / Cashier’s number is 912-472-5026

Tickets may be paid online at www.cityoftybee.org, by telephone at (912)786-4573, ext. 102, or in person at City Hall. City Hall is open from 8 AM until 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
