Give Back and Join a Beach Sweep

Love Tybee Island and the beach? Want to give back while visiting? Then come join Fight Dirty Tybee, the Island’s anti-litter campaign, and Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers, a GA non-profit that organizes beach and neighborhood cleanups, and join in the fun at any of the following events. And if you have a group of at least 10 participants, you can also arrange for a private group beach cleaning. Equipment and instructions provided! 3/2 – SCAD beehive clean up, SCAD campus, 2-5 PM, with SCAD Sustainability Club

3/4 – TCBV Beach Sweep @ Marine Science Center (MSC). We’ll be joined by German exchange students invited by Mayor Buelterman, and a group from SCAD Serve, 4 PM

3/5 – Piedmont College Alternative Spring Break Sweep, Center St, 10 AM

3/11 – Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers (TCBV) Beach Sweep @ 18th Street, 4 PM

3/20 – Great American Clean-up, meet in Memorial Park. Open to all Tybee residents. We’ll be joined by  student volunteers from Miami University (Ohio), 3-6 PM. Details and logistics being planned

3/21 – Miami University Alternative Spring Break Beach Sweep, mid-Island, 10 AM

3/24 – Combined Armstrong State & Georgia Southern Beach Sweep @ NB, 10 AM

3/25 – TCBV Beach Sweep @MSC, 5PM

4/6 – 5th Grade Girl Scout Troop from Suwannee GA Beach Sweep @MSC, 1 PM

4/7 – joint cleanup with Clean Coast and Marshtenders @Turners Boat Ramp, Wilmington Island, with a group from Armstrong State (Armstrong Adventures), 10 AM – noon.

4/15 – Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers (TCBV) Beach Sweep, location TBD, 6 PM

4/21 – we’ll have a vendor booth at Earth Day Savannah, Forsyth Park, 11-4

4/22 – Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers cleanup, 9 AM, Pier area. We’ll be joined by a sorority group from Georgia College
