Reports to: Executive Director and Director of Operations
Position: Staff (Part Time; Hourly); Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun; 9:30-5:30 Weekends Required $15/hour *Must be able to climb the lighthouse, work in inclement weather, have strong computer skills, and lift up to 15 pounds
Duties
• Knowledge of all volunteers, the site, and its history
• Work closely with Volunteer Coordinator (VC) to make sure there is adequate coverage of buildings for the day. Including filling in for volunteers when necessary
• Assist VC in managing the volunteer calendar • Manage community service workers including scheduling, monitoring, and paperwork in VC’s absences
• Assisting with volunteer training as needed
• Tour site (including climbing the tower) on a daily basis to make sure it is safe and secure for visitors, enforcing rules with guests when necessary
• Help the Director of Programming & Membership (DPM) with daily guided group tours which could include climbing the tower
• Help the DPM with reservations, scheduling, and payments
• Assist with parking lot duty, the gift shop, ticket sales and after hours events as needed
• Help to answer phones & keep site tidy, clean and safe for visitors
• Be out and about greeting and talking with visitors on a regular basis
• Opening and closing site as needed
• Plus any additional tasks that the Executive Director or Director of Operations assigns
