ABOUT THE EVENT
Ship Watch, released December 1, is Jonathon Scott Barrett’s first work of fiction – and is a colorful Southern saga filled with family theatrics, exes and excess, and set in Savannah, Sea Island, Highlands, Buckhead, and….Tybee. Johnathon will talk about how and why he began creating his culinary anthologies, which, with his love of storytelling, consequently led to his latest literary work.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Characters drawn from the loom by the family’s matriarch, Grand Martha, create a multi-generational tapestry that includes the misfortunes of betrayal and divorce, alongside redemption and rediscovery of second love. With an encompassing sense of place and characters both believable and extraordinary, Ship Watch is the bittersweet and often comical “hard-to-put-down” book for the new year.
