Egg-citing Easter Events In Town and Surrounding Areas
Easter is Sunday, April 9, which will be here before you know it. So, that means now’s the time to start thinking through your holiday plans. There are quite a few fantastic festivities happening on the island and in our neighboring towns. Whether you’re looking to commune with the faithful, enjoy a beautiful brunch, hunt for colored eggs or snap a pic with the Easter Bunny, you’ll find that there are plenty of holiday happenings to choose from. Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens Easter Egg Hunt
The Botanical Gardens at Canebrake Road in Savannah is hosting an easter egg hunt for children ages 10 and under on Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to the egg hunt, attendees can enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, and cookie decorating. The Easter Bunny will also be present to greet little ones. Registration is required, so be sure to sign up before April 5.
The Great Thunderbolt EGG Hunt
Thunderbolt, the charming town in between Savannah and the islands, is celebrating Easter with a community egg hunt of their own. On April 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., families can head to Cesaroni Park for fun fellowship, photos with the Easter Bunny, games and more, all in addition to the egg hunt, of course. Food trucks will be present and a Swag Bus will be on the scene as well.
Easter Sunrise Service
Start your Easter off beautifully with a sunrise service on Tybee’s iconic Pier and Pavilion. No need to don your Sunday best as this inclusive service is casual. Hosted by Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church, the service will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., leaving you plenty of time to enjoy a lovely brunch afterwards.
Plant Riverside District Easter Brunch
Speaking of brunch, Savannah’s bustling entertainment district, Plant Riverside will host a special Easter brunch in the opulent Atlantic Building on Sunday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The mouthwatering menu will feature traditional favorites artfully prepared by the chef as well as a decadent display of pastries. The brunch includes photos with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt on MLK Park from 12 to 2 p.m. Reservations are required.
The DeSoto Easter Brunch Festival
Downtown Savannah’s opulent hotel the DeSoto welcomes the public to attend their Easter Brunch Festival, taking place April 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to an ‘eggs-uisite’ brunch, diners can enjoy a scavenger hunt, games, an art station, face painting, a magician and more. Reservations are available online at OpenTable.
