Celebrate Spooky Season – Tybee Halloween Happenings

Halloween is just around the corner, and Tybee is getting ready to celebrate. There are several spooky celebrations going on around town that you won’t want to miss. Like everything else in the South, when it comes to Halloween, we go big! So, get your costumes ready and mark your calendars for these Tybee Halloween fun festivities.  

The Rocky Horror Picture Show 

On Oct. 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. the Tybee Post Theater will host special screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Attendees are encouraged to don their best Rocky Horror costume and enjoy the cult classic. Prop kits are available for sale that will help you engage more with the film. It’s sure to be a hauntingly good time.  

Trunk or Treat 

The Tybee Island YMCA will host the great Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Families can look forward to several fun Halloween activities and plenty of candy. Be sure to bring a big trick-or-treat bag and come dressed in your favorite costume. 

Haunted History Tour 

The Tybee Island Historical Society is offering haunted history tours around the iconic Light Station and Battery Garland. The tours last one hour and will take place on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. They will also be offered on Oct. 29 at 7 and 8:30 p.m. The tour guide will cover local lore and little-known facts about the island’s darker history.  The tour is $20 per person and space is limited. Witchy Soiree 

Join the team at Seaside Sisters on Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their Witchy Soiree. You can shop ‘til you drop for all your seasonal and holiday needs. There will be tasty treats, special offers and small gifts available for guests. A fortune teller will also be there giving tarot readings by appointment. Call (912) 786-9216 to schedule your reading and prepare to have a wicked good time.

Lewis Ave. Trick or Treating 

On Halloween night from 6 to 9 p.m. community members are welcome to trick-or-treat throughout Lewis Ave. Wear a fun costume and bring a big bag for candy. Be sure to stay safe and look both ways before crossing the road. It’s going to be a fun time for the whole family.
